Yes there is, but you have to be smart about what you choose from the menu at every fast food restaurant. There are fast food restaurants that overall offer a lowered calorie solution for meals. We have listed those at the bottom of this article.

In order to help you choose the more healthy options, here is a selection of fast food meals and the restaurants they come from. This is obviously not a complete list, but it will give you an idea on how to choose healthier options at fast food establishments.

Remember that broiled is always preferred over fried.

Warnings: 

  • Be careful about adding condiments – the sauces and dips are usually the downfall of any meal – even if the meal is somewhat healthy. if you really want the condiment, use it sparingly.
  • The side dishes can be the most unhealthy part of the meal. Instead of fries, choose a side salad, or a fruit cup.
  • Don’t drink the soda. Choose unsweet tea, water. if you must have some extra flavor in your drink, choose orange juice or lowfat milk. if you don’t have an issue with the artificial sweeteners in soda, then that could be a choice, although it’s not a preferred choice.
